The current comeback of British jazz can be traced back to Courtney Pine, who was a leading figure in UK jazz during the 1980s. The saxophonist, still active today, draws inspiration not only from artists like John Coltrane, but as an acid jazz icon, he has also always incorporated reggae, soul, and hip-hop into his dynamic sound. "Out Of The Ghetto - A Modern-Day Jazz Story" brings together for the first time 28 of his most important tracks from the mid-1980s to the late 1990s on two CDs.
