To mark John Coltrane's 100th birthday, a legendary chapter of his legacy is being made available for the first time. The 4-LP box set "The Tiberi Tapes" brings together previously unreleased live recordings made by saxophonist Frank Tiberi between 1960 and 1964 at clubs in New York and Philadelphia. For more than six decades, these tapes remained largely unheard. They capture Coltrane alongside his legendary bandmates during one of the most exciting periods of his artistic development. These are not conventional concert recordings – their historic sound bears witness to the adventurous circumstances in which they were made. In return, they bring the listener remarkably close to Coltrane on stage: searching, experimenting and constantly pushing his music forward. For the jazz world, this release is a truly extraordinary event!

Four black 140g LPs housed in a sturdy lift-off box, plus an LP-sized booklet featuring extensive essays by Ashley Kahn, Lauren Du Graf, Lewis Porter and mastering engineer Kevin Reeves.
