Blue Lab Beats are based in London. Both members were part of the Tomorrow’s Warriors jazz programme. Their mixture of afrobeats, hip-hop, jazz, R&B and funk has won them critical acclaim, from being nominated for a MOBO award for Best Jazz Act to winning a Grammy Award for production on Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo’s album “Mother Nature”. They have remixed Dua Lipa and Rag’n’Bone Man, and the title track from their 2022 Blue Note album “Motherland Journey” saw them rework Fela Kuti’s vocal from “Everything Scatter” with the blessing of the Afrobeat originator’s estate.
